It’s that time of the year again! The Bluegrass Community Bankers Association (BCBA) will be holding its Annual Convention on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Embassy Suites in Lexington, Kentucky. In the coming days, we will be posting a schedule of events on our website at www.bluegrassbankers.com.
​
The Silent Auction, a long-standing tradition of our convention, will be held during the banquet on Monday night. The auction will begin, along with a cocktail reception, prior to the banquet. The money raised during the auction will be used to fund scholarships for individuals to attend banking schools of their choice designed specifically for Community Bankers.
​
There are two ways in which you can participate and support this event and we encourage you to do both! First, you can provide a gift and/or item to be auctioned that represents or is specific to your community. In lieu of a gift, you may also make a monetary donation. Second, you can attend and participate in the bidding at the silent auction.
​
In the accompanying link, you will find a Donor Information Form for your convenience. If you are interested in supporting the auction, please fill out the Donor Information Form, including a contact name in case there is need for follow-up as the Convention draws near.

Your Donor Information Forms should be emailed to jstacy@botm.bank. Your gifts can be dropped off at the Registration Desk when you register for the Convention. If sending money, please send those checks to:

We are counting the days until our BCBA convention! I hope you have already marked your calendars to join us. The event will be held August 18-20, 2024, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Lexington.

Kentucky typically evokes thoughts of three things…Kentucky Derby, basketball, and bourbon. It is safe to say that at least one if not all three are very much a part of every Kentuckian’s DNA in some shape, matter or form. Community banks in Kentucky have proven to exhibit the strength of a horse, the passion for their home teams, and the warm feeling of home. Therefore, we have selected our theme for the 2024 convention to reflect these characteristics:

One of the highlights of our annual convention is the presentation of the Charles D. Bennett Education Scholarship to an employee of a Bluegrass Community Bankers Association member bank. The proceeds of our annual silent auction provide the funding for this great educational opportunity.

As President and/or CEO of your institution, we invite you to take this opportunity to nominate an employee from your bank for this scholarship. To nominate your community banker, please complete the enclosed form and return it to us at the following address:

The scholarship is available for use at all nationally recognized banking schools in the United States and is valued up to a maximum of $2,500 per year for 3 years per winner.

I encourage you to nominate someone from your bank to take advantage of this opportunity. Should your employee be chosen, you will receive advance notice so you will be able to register them for the convention to receive the scholarship in person. Please submit your nomination by July 31, 2024.
